«إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَمِیلٌ یُحِبُّ الْجَمَال»

خداوند زیباست و زیبایی را دوست میدارد

GOD IS BEAUTIFUL AND LOVES BEAUTY

BALADI DANCE (BELLYDANCE)

The word Tarab is a loanword from Arabic. The Arabic word طرب means "having joy with music". Loosely translated to “enchantment,” tarab is an Arabic word describing a deep, stirring musical performance that launches the audience into a trance-like state of ecstasy.

Tarab has traditionally been performed in largely Imperial and Royal nocturnal gatherings. This setting helps musicians and audiences experience a uniquely emotional tarab state of being, which is often described as intoxicating. Music and poetic lyrics [of tarab] which emphasizes Love cleanses the soul from its traumas, and it can even heal physical ills.

Tarab is always performed acoustically with acoustic musical instruments. It is always happy and joyous dance music which is called Raqs Sharqi (Eastern Dance). The nature of this music is strictly fast and up-tempo using a variety of instruments which are used mostly in a trio, duo or in very rare occasions an ensemble setting.

The bellydancer is chosen from the most divine and sacred women, they are beautiful and resemble the divine feminine perfection of God.

This environment creates a setting which allows for closeness with the creator by way of song and dance. The same degree of holiness is expected from the musicians which allows for these performances to be healing and intoxicating. The musicians and dancers themselves are always royalty, monarchs and\or prince and princess in their own right.

This song and dance originates from the most ancient ways of living where people would dance and play acoustic music in order to have pleasure, joy and dance and is considered the most sacred ways of communion with the divine.
